Based in Madison, WI, Gaines & Wagoner is the husband/wife duo of Mary Gaines and Chris Wagoner. Gaines & Wagoner play a mix of vintage and original jazz, blues and Americana and enjoy bantering with the audience, making for a very eclectic and surprising show, including electric violins, mandolins, ukulele, lapsteel, guitar and cello (walked like a bass) plus lots of duo vocals.

Chris was recently voted Violinist of the Year at the Wisconsin Area Music Industry awards and Overall Instrumentalist of the Year at the Madison Area Music Awards, and both have received numerous Madison Area Music Awards over their almost 40 years as veterans of the WI and Midwest music scene.

Recording credits include several releases with Willy Porter (including his upcoming yet-to-be-released project), Carrie Newcomer (10 albums on Rounder Records) and strings on Smashing Pumpkin's multi-platinum release, "Gish" plus many, many local, regional, national and international artists.
